We have travelled with Regent SSC on a number of previous occasions and have always enjoyed every minute. However during our recent trip around New Zealand and Australia we decided to book another package to Japan in 2025. So my American friends be aware, be very aware when words like free are used to promote a Regent SSC product. As for us, Regent are a lost cause we have even returned our loyalty pins so they can use them as FREE gifts for their next generation of punters. We in the meantime are looking at alternative companies with whom we can spend our money, and yes, there are several in the market.

Passengers with a sprinkling of Canadians, Australians and Europeans -- mainly Danish, German and Belgian. As Regent originates from and is based in North America, passengers from this part of the world are usually in the majority. To some extent, of course, the variance of nationalities onboard also depends on where the ship is sailing, with more American passengers when the ship sails in Asia, for example. In warm weather, the action moves to the lido deck (Deck 11), home to the pool, a grill, a bar and the La Veranda buffet restaurant. At night, three lounges and a cigar bar offer different vibes, from mellow to lively. Seven Seas Voyager is a relaxing ship with a cultured but informal ambiance and a high crew-to-passenger ratio.
It is shameful behavior that unfortunately will likely end up in small claims court. I would be very careful before dealing with this company. However, the ship was worn, constant cancellations of tours last minute without proper notification. All last minute fill ins were disappointing and bottom of the barrel. My first Regent Cruise, almost every frequent cruiser was disappointed and will consider Silver Seas.

The Splendor is the second of Regent’s Explorer-class ships which Regent describes as the most luxurious ships ever built. If you take a few minutes to watch the above video, I’m confident you will find their claim justified. There seemed to be relatively few children on board, but the Club Mariner Youth program features kids’ programming like dance parties or mini-putt tournaments for children ages five to 17. All of that said, the singers and dancers were phenomenal, and it's clear Regent sunk a lot of time, money and creativity into the costumes and sets.
